Duration September 2012 – August 2014
The project’s target group are adults, regardless of nationality, lan-guage and school education who have minimal knowledge of basic skills as reading, writing, calculation or computing. Within the project an advisory centre as well as different pro-grammes to strengthen basic skills were successfully implemented. A particular focus was on the integration of these offers at work. The project was completed in October 2015. The organisation of the programmes was handed over to the Adult Foundation Steinegerta within a service agreement.
A core task of the office of Vocational Training and Vocational Guidance is to advise youth in their first career choice. Due to the increasing digital communication an app that brings together all services was developed. The app gives especially young people an easy access to all relevant information and therefore supports them in their process of career choice.
In the current version of the app Liechtenstein as well as eight Swiss cantons can be checked for apprenticeship positions. The app also shows the close cooperation between Liechtenstein and Switzerland in terms of vocational training.
2008, the development of the qualification framework in higher education was initiated under the supervision of the Office of Education. The NQFL-HS as well as the report on the compatibility with the Bologna structures was approved by the government in 2013 and came into force within the Ordinance on Higher Education.
2011 the Agency on International Education Affairs was obliged to develop a qualification framework for the whole education system. Subsequently the development of this framework was highly influenced by trends of the German speaking countries, especially Switzerland due to the close cooperation in the education system and the intense educational and vocational mobility. Within the development of the qualification framework Switzerland concentrated on vocational degrees.
The Liechtenstein qualification framework is intended to be an overall framework that consist of different parts that had been worked out differently. It is planned to link the vocational education part with the Swiss vocational qualification framework. The for the vocational education part relevant aspects are organized within the Ordinance on the national Qualification Framework for Vocational Education (NQFL-BB). The report for the NQFL was presented to the EQF-Advisory Board in June 2016 for the first time and will be conclusively discussed in September 2016.
