The Regional Seminar on University Governance in Eastern European Countries, organized in Kiev on 01-02 March 2010, was the first of the four regional seminars that the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency, in cooperation with the European Commission services, is organising in 2010.
The aim of these seminars is to present the results of the study "Changing rules - A review of Tempus support to university governance" commissioned by the European Commission in 2009 (authors: John Reilly and Ard Jongsma) and to encourage reflection and discussion among academics, experts and ministerial representatives on the general challenges and trends in the governance of higher education systems.
The Seminar in Kiev gathered around 80 participants from the 7 Eastern European Tempus partner countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russian Federation, Ukraine). The participants, invited by the Commission services and EACEA, represented Universities, Ministries, Higher Education Agencies, EU Delegations, Tempus National Tempus Offices and National Contact Points.
The Seminar represented a good opportunity for all different stakeholders to meet and exchange experience about the ongoing developments in their countries.
Working languages: English and Russian.
