The event "EU support for engagement and participation in Europe" provides information on the future generation of EU programs "Youth in Action", "Grundtvig" and "Europe for citizens" and offers a platform for the exchange between representatives of the EU Parliament, the EU Commission, European organizations and project initiators as well as funding experts about promoting volunteering and participation opportunities in Europe.
The meeting is a joint event of the European Commission in Munich, the German ECP (KS EfBB), in cooperation with Bundesnetzwerk Bürgerschaftliches Engagement (BBE) and supported by Europäische Bewegung Deutschland (EBD).

The Europe for Citizens programme supports projects that provide platforms to discuss Europe, the EU and encourage participation for european topics. Europe Day 2013

The Tempus Public Foundation in cooperation with the Hungarian representation of the European Commission celebrates the Europe Day (In Europe, Europe Day is an annual celebration of peace and unity in Europe) on the 11th of May. There will be a lot of interesting programmes, and it would be worth visiting the tent of Tempus Public Foundation where information can be gathered from the programme of Europe for Citizens, and interesting Hungarian projects would be shown.

Italy 24 February

On Tuesday 24 January, the ECP Italy will implement a new national day dedicated to the European Year of Citizens and the Europe for Citizens program, which will be held at the Conference Room of Santa Marta, the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, Square 27 Roman College, Rome. ECP – Europe for Citizens Point Italy will take part to the event that will be held in Monforte San Giorgio, Messina (Sicily), Italy, from 7th up to 10th March 2013. The event is organized in the context of the project “Abilities and Skills of European Women” selected in the framework of Action 1, Measure 1.2 – Network of Twinned Towns of Europe for Citizens Programme.

On 9th March, ECP Italy will illustrate the Europe 2020 Strategy and the Europe for Citizens Programme.

ECP – Europe for Citizens Point Italy, in cooperation with Naples Municipality and Europe Direct Naples, will organize an Infoday on Europe for Citizens Programme. The Infoday will focus mainly on Action 1 – Active Citizens for Europe and its Measures. The first part of the event will deal with Programme’s objectives, priorities and criteria, while the second part will consist on a practical workshop how to prepare a candidature for a “Europe for Citizens” Programme call, including an explanation on how to fulfil the e-form and other documents.

The event will offer potential beneficiaries the opportunity to have individual (one-to-one) meetings with ECP Italy experts in order to discuss their project ideas, doubts regarding the compilation of the documents, etc.

ECP – Europe for Citizens Point Italy will organize a Conference on Holocaust, European Rights and Action 4 – European Active Remembrance of the Europe for Citizens Programme.
The conference will be held in Rome, in the Conference Hall Santa Marta of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities. Relevant speakers in the field of Shoa remembrance will take part at the event. Theoretical and practical information regarding Action 4 will be provided. Free copies of the volume “Collective memory of events occurred under Nazism and Nazi-fascism”, realized by ECP Italy and containing an overview of selected projects in the framework of Action 4, will be distributed to participants.

ECP – Europe for Citizens Point will participate to Journalism Festival 2013, a national event connected to Journalism, that, in 2013, will include a seminar dedicated to the initiative “A window on Europe”, aimed to “communicate Europe”.

In this context, ECP Italy will provide general information regarding Europe for Citizens Programme and its role in communicating Europe to European citizens.

ECP – Europe for Citizens Point Italy will inaugurate the exhibition “Citizenship in Europe from Ancient Times to the Present”, edited by ECP Italy - Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and realized in cooperation with European Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affair, Council of Ministers – Department for European Policies.
The exhibition, composed by 20 explanatory panels containing texts written in Italian and English (in order to reach both national and international public) aims to analyse the concept of citizenship though ages, from the birth of democracy in ancient Greece, to the Roman civitas, up to the creation of modern concept of citizenship and, lastly, the establishment of the European Union and subsequently of the European Citizenship.
The initiative is promoted in the framework of the European Year of Citizens (Decision N. 1093/2012/UE of the European Parliament and the Council), whose scope is to foster European citizens’ knowledge of their rights and of the meaning of European citizenship. In fact, a full understanding of the meaning of European citizenship cannot be separated by the knowledge of European history.

In the framework of the Italian selected project (Action 1, Measure 2.2.) “Think different, think Europe!”, ECP – Europe for Citizens Point Italy, in cooperation with Associazione Italiana Persone Down Onlus, will organize a Conference on Europe for Citizens Programme. The conference will illustrate the Programme’s objectives and structure, focusing on the opportunities for disabled people.

Evening:
ECP – Europe for Citizens Point, in cooperation with TIA Formazione internazionale, in  will organize a seminar and workshop on Europe for Citizens Programme. The seminar will illustrate Europe for Citizens objectives, priorities, selection criteria, open calls. The workshop will analyse in detail the application form, explaining how to properly to fulfil it, as well as other annexes.
